2006 Season in Review

Jess started the 2006 season with high hopes after winning the "Rookie of the Year" title in 2005. In the 1st race, an early wreck on lap 2 caused minor damage. He battled his way back through the field and took the lead with two laps to go. He was then hit from behind and turned head-on into the wall!

Having to fight for points against very competitive trucks week after week makes for a difficult climb back to the top. By putting yourself in position each week, the wins will come. Sometimes they will surprise you! After having trouble getting our hauler to the track one night, Jess not only won his heat race, but also the feature. This was his first feature win.

A few weeks later, Jess raced from 12th to the lead with only ten laps to go. He was pulling away from the other trucks when a weld broke on the rearend. This sent him into the inside wall and ended his night.

Never giving up and hard driving saw Jess climb back up in the point standings to finish 4th, only 2 points behind 3rd!

Jess finished 7th in the Operation Big Chance. This was sponsored by Dollar General and Kevin Harvick Inc. It was a chance to test and qualify a Craftsman Truck at the Martinsville race in 2007.

Jess Williams Racing had a great year with the support of sponsors, family, and friends. We would like to thank each one.

With more confidence and experience, Jess will have his eye on the Championship in 2007.
